As I posted on another thread like it or not time to respect the man. Let's get creative here, you might be surprised at what ideas come about.
Start the List:
When we score instead of saying "you suck" to the other team say "you rock" to ours to reward their accomplishments.
Instead of yelling (other goalie) s-u-c-k-s, yell (ours) r-o-c-k-s
Instead of dwindling thier confidence down, boost ours up.
other ideas?...bring it on

I say GO BUGS instead of YOU SUCK!
The only feasible way I see doing this is by putting the chant on the jumbo tron.

How about "whiner" when the opposing team whines to the ref???? Some players do it constantly through a game...........that would be hysterical !

when we taunt the opposing goalie, do what all the NHL teams do.....slowly chant his last name. if you don't know what i mean, in dallas when marty turco
does something good they chant "marty! marty! marty!" but on a road game when he gives up a goal the fans of the other team taunt him by yelling
"tur-co, tur-co, tur-co"......no use of the word "suck".
when we score, during the goal celebration instead of saying "hey, you suck!" at the goalie, say "hey! you're a sieve!" at the goalie. no use of the word "suck". maybe not as quite as catchy, but has the same effect, the goalie realizes that he isn't very good at all.
if at first you don't succeed, skydiving probably isn't for you.

We'll need someone in the know to have a sign in the end zone with the goalies name on it to make it work ! I'd love us to do it......but most people
don't know the opposing goalies name...but they could sub their you suck signs with a wipe off board with the goalie's name .......

how about bible study during 1st intermission..... Praying the Rosary during 2nd and learning the koran during timeouts. And why not this...during
intermission claude (thats if HES coming back. y a know he gyrates sometimes ) but he could be throwing lamenated prayers out into the audience , can
you imagine the smiles on all those kids faces.

I think everyone is taking the word "suck" and the chant out of context--"oh my gosh-they use a word in a cheer-I won't go to games."
I for one would rather them do away with beer sales so my kids don't have to see the drunks or worry about them getting behind the wheel of a car.

it is easier for me to explain why they can not say a word-rather than explaining to them that the guy in front of them thinks he can polish off a 6 pack and
still drive home and risk killing not only imself, but maybe one of their friends or even my kid.

i don't have a big deal with the word itself....but we say it over and over and over.....its in almost all of our chants. why is variety a bad thing?

because the word works and the meaning is unmistakable. Using the word "stink" just does not work-does not let the goalie or ref or opposing player
know what is really felt towards them.
And Swill-I know-I just find it funny that a few weeks ago everyone on here was all over Scott (wanting him fired), then all over Madden for selling the team, and now they are up in arms over a chant?

In the beginning, the "Goalie/Sieve" chant did not originally have the "you suck" stuck into it (I never remember hearing it until a
couple years into the CTC, anyway. And I'm assuming that is the "you suck" chant he is referring to). I hated to see that gradually develope
because it is pretty lame, but the only way to do away with it now is to stop the song (that would pretty well do it, maybe not entirely) and that would be a
shame. How many times have you talked to a fan of another team, or a new fan making their first game and hear "Man, I was impressed with how the entire
arena is in unison on that chant. Impressive", either in person or on the board? Many Memphis fans have seen it and tried to copy us, and can't pull
it off.
Oh well, we'll see. Maybe Mama P has a solution.

That's what Mr. Scott was talking about then; Swill. Because he also made the statement that the You Suck chant wasn't there when he 1st became a fan.
And Janet said that she didn't remember. But it's like you said. MamaP will have a solution. She's good at these things. Plus I really think we
need one that other teams fans haven't heard. Because Mama P said when that chant came out there were people from different teams wanting to know it. So
now would be a good time to start a new one.
The thing some find kind of stupid is when someone comes out of the penalty box from the opposing team after serving a penalty & we didn't score. And they are also ahead in the game. But when the announcer says; "Texas back at full strength & then some of our fans shout "And they still suck". We have people ask why they say that when their team has just killed off a penalty & they are also winning the game. And we are like; "Don't ask us. You can see we don't say it." Because it's easy to see they didn't $uck during the PK & they are winning the game on top of that.
