I'm going to respectfully disagree with that.
I think if this year's squad had shown the motivation & grit to beat Texas then we would have had the motivation & grit to successfully face-off against the eagle$. The eagle$ aren't THAT good. Their core players have passed over the crest and are on the downhill side of their careers. Still formidable players but not at the level they once were.

You may be right Clay, it may have gone down that way, but momentum is so important in a series - if we had ever gained some then things might have ended
differentlly.
I may draw some flack for it but I do think our team was/is better than Texas and that if the series were replayed for a total of five times that the Mudbugs would win at least three of those. Not taking anything away from Texas - the beat us (probably because it was personal to them) but I don't believe they were or are a better team for 2007-08.

I still maintain we might have been a victim of our own system....we didnt get back to playing with the timing and zip we had before we began
"resting" some players....as been said before...our team needs to have steady work to maintain their edge....of course we had guys who needed the
rest...so its a catch 22 situation...whatever it is....we never got back to playing our best hockey and the cows took full advantage of that....
