He said the "You Suck" chant wasn't around when the Bugs 1st started playing. He had a great idea. I say instead of everyone getting all bent out of shape because the owner is just trying to get rid of "You Suck"; why not put that energy into coming up with different chants. It's gotten to where you hear the chant in every arena you go to now. So why don't we all start looking for some new chants that others aren't doing now??? It may be kind of fun to hear new chants that others can come up with. This could turn out to be fun. It makes alot more sense than just up & saying; "Well; he ain't gonna stop us from saying "You Suck". It's just a thought. And I don't see where it would hurt for all us 4th Liners trying to help him out with things since he's just starting out. Look at it this way. If it wasn't for Mr. & Mrs. Scott, we wouldn't have a team to cheer for period. If he thinks this will bring in more families with children; then why not try & help. If we can get lots more people in the seats; it may mean later on that this organization could make a profit for him & in return we as fans may see some things that he has said we weren't going to have in the future. And it may also mean he keeps this organizationp up & running for many more years to come. I think we all want that more than anything. I know I do. .

If families said they would go to games if there were no fighting-would people demand that there be none? The cheers and chants have been part of hockey for how long? You can not get them out of the game. Ref you suck They still suck Your just a funnel, no your a collendar....You just suck-you just suck goalie/sieve (it ends in you suck) he shoots/he scores Think how awesome all those chants and jeers will sound with 4,000 fans screaming "stink" It is a word people-it is used almost everyday by 95% of the people who read these boards-at games, at home, at the movies. My 7 yr old has heard it since he was first going to games-and he still knows not to say the word-he knows it is not a word for little kids to say. I am glad he bought the team-don't get me wrong, but he KNOWS/KNEW that chant was part of the package when he bought the team. How is he going to stop 4,000 fans from doing that chant-unless he plans on playing music everytime the chant starts (but he can not play music during play)? I am sorry-I just think too many people are making a mountain out of a grain of sand. Put in a "Kid Friendly Zone" where there is no alcohol sold or allowed (speaking of that-what if people started saying they would not attend if beer were served? I don't want my kids in an atmosphere where alcohol is served-that offends me.). "American by birth-SOUTHERN BY THE GRACE OF GOD"

Like I said. I have said it in the past. But out of respect for my Mom & some others I stopped saying it. But I don't understand the deal with some people thinking they CAN'T come up with another chant. JMHO. .

Rookie Posts: 661 (06/30/09 23:51:23) Zamboni Driver Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	i really think a lot of people are missing what he's trying to do. theres not going to be those yellow shirts running around kicking people out who say suck. i think the music is going to change after a goal so not to promote it. but as far as people saying "ref you suck", thats not going to be stopped. neither will the "they still suck" coming out of the penalty box. feel free to say suck all you want. the only thing that may change is the song that plays after goals; at least thats the only thing i can think of Bye John "Drama Queen" Madden!

The words that I keyed in on where "if it keeps one family from attending, thats one too many". And if we can come up with something just a little different, lets do it and not offend if at all possible. I could be wrong, but that is the way I read it....not that WE ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE THAT CHANT ANYMORE....PERIOD. Maybe if those of you who find this petty, and objectionable talked to him and voiced your concerns, he would listen. I think perhaps our new owner just is about to get his first taste of "you cant please all the people all the time, no matter how hard you try". Mudbug fans are passionate fans....and thats GREAT
